Tattoo Aftercare

1. Remove the bandage from your new tattoo in 2-4 hours.
There is no need to re-bandage the tattoo unless instructed to when the tattoo was completed.

2. Wash your new tattoo with warm water and mild soap.
Wash lightly with your hand. DO NOT use a washcloth or any abrasive pads or soaps. During the healing process wash the tattoo once in the morning and once at night. Pat dry with a soft towel.

3. Apply a thin layer of Vitamin A&D, or Aquaphor ointment.
Do this 4 times, daily, for a week. Pat with a dry paper towel to remove excess ointment.

4. After 1 week, switch to a moisturizing skin lotion.
Any fragrance free lotion, like Curel or Lubriderm, work very well. Apply gently onto your tattoo 4 times, daily, for a week, being careful not to remove any scabs that still remain.

5. Your tattoo will scab and flake during these 2 weeks.
DO NOT pick at the scabs. This can also result in color loss and scarring.

6. For the first 3 weeks avoid:
Sun Tanning, Tanning Beds, Salt Water, Chlorine, Steam Rooms, and Hot Tubs.
